Virtual Saint Kate Curator Talk — Frank Juarez

Apr 17

Join us virtually for a discussion with Saint Kate Guest Curators Frank Juarez and Ric Kasini Kadour!

The Guest Curators will discuss the ins and outs of the process of curating The Money $how, and will offer insight into the artists on display.

On view from April 10th-August 10th, 2021 in Saint Kate's AIR Space gallery, The Money $how takes guests on a tour of late-stage capitalism. Each of the artists in the exhibition uses collage to unpack ideas about money and its influence on our culture. Artworks speak about Black wealth, immigrant remittances, and how mid-20th century advertising informs present-day attitudes. Artists collage dollar bills into flowers and mine material remnants to tell stories about home economics.

Guest Curators Frank Juarez and Ric Kasini Kadour invite guests to consider cash, labor, and capital and its profuse influence in our contemporary life.

Frank Juarez is an award-winning art educator, artist, author, presenter, arts advocate, and former gallery director. Juarez brings nineteen years of art education and arts management experience organizing local and regional art exhibitions, community art events, facilitating presentations, supporting artists through grant programs, and professional development workshops. This has placed him in the forefront of promoting Wisconsin artists, networking, and attracting regional, national, and international artists to collaborate and exhibit in Wisconsin. Juarez is the art department chair at Sheboygan North High School, contributing editor of SchoolArts Magazine, and publisher of Artdose Magazine.
